Meet Joe – Head of Dry Hire
Where did you come from before this?
I have worked in the events industry for over 9 years, starting with a small events company when I was 16 I was interested in all areas of event production and slowly grew my knowledge. Over the years I have also become very interested in web and App development
What is a typical day like for you at SXS?
The thing I love about the events industry is every day is different. My role here is very suited to me and my passions. I oversee all dry hire coming into the company, making quotes, checking over prepped equipment and general processes around dry hire. When I started back in April I got straight in with developing a brand new Website aimed at the dry hire market, the site is fully integrated with our hire software which keeps the website up to date with all our products we keep in stock as well as being able to see real time availability of stock levels, clients can also login to their personalised account section and view upcoming jobs, items on the jobs and view, pay for and download invoices. Where do you see the company in a year's time?
I can see the company is on the edge of breaking through to the next level, with new processes in place including all equipment being barcoded and having 21st century client facing integration as well as the latest equipment, I don’t think it will be long.
What do you do outside of work?
I have a fantastic little family so love spending time with them and spending time outdoors.
If you didn't do event production what would you do?
I would probably go into web and app development full time or something around IT infrastructure
