Video & Digital Content Designer Job Title:

Video & Digital Content Designer

In this role you will work in our studio team to create a wide range of content for event purposes.  The main elements include:

  • Video editing - a major part of our marketing strategy uses video as a way of both communicating technical concepts as well as promoting services. In this role you will be responsible for editing these videos for these uses. These videos range from a short video-blog entry to detailed technical presentations or showreels. We are aiming to one-day make our website a primarily video-based form of communication which will require many short videos to be made
  • Camera Work - Filming at live events, on premises and for media use
  • Event content - most of our major projects have significant amounts of audio, video and other digital content that needs to be checked, filed, pre-programmed and occasionally modified. You would be looking after this
  • Graphics and artwork management - many of our projects have large amount of graphics. You would be receiving artwork, checking it, supplying to printers and managing proofs for clients
  • Video production - SXS also offers video production services to clients. You will be in charge of the editing of these videos.
  • Event Photography - Taking and processing still photos of our event work and publishing on our website and social channels

Of course this a broad range of skills.   The right person for the role will have a strong creative mind and advanced skills in at least one field.   Areas where you have lesser skills can be supported by the rest of the SXS team as well as our network of collaborators.   At SXS we have a strong focus on learning and developing skills, so we are happy to support you in building skills in all areas.   Also, we own equipment in every discipline of content and film production so there is huge opportunity to experiment and learn - especially when making our internal and promotional videos.

The work we do is varied and includes motion graphics for awards shows, timelapses, hyperlapses, still photography, HDR photography, event highlights videos, press junkets, powerpoint design, "talking heads" videos and awards winner videos.   The bulk of our studio time is spent on motion graphics and video editing.

We work with really good people from a range of sectors, in all sorts of locations all over the UK and Europe.   One day you would be doing product photography in our studio, the next working on a feature film set, the next creating content for a televised awards show.

SXS is a great place to work and we have done everything we can to make it a place we are all excited to go to each work day.   Our offices have excellent natural light, air conditioning, top-end IT, large meeting spaces and great coffee.   The workplace culutre at SXS is vibrant, focussed, friendly, create, collaborative and sometimes a little nerdy.  We also have showers, secure bike storage, plenty of parking and lockers for all staff.  SXS HQ is close to Bristol city centre and over the road from meadows which is a great place for lunch or a walk.  We also offer flexitime arrangements in order to help people to get their lifestyle balance right.
