Bond charity ball 2006 - Manchester
SXS were approached by a socially-conscious business in Knutsford, near Manchester due to their specialisation in large-scale venue dressing and creative lighting
The Brief
The brief was to re-create the event space within the prestigious Tatton Hall into an elegant Bond-themed party.
The event event space already had various ornaments attached to the walls, but these were not appropriate to the theme of this event. Therefore a core element to production was a complete re-dress of the venue - meaning that all existing internal features were to be hidden.

Using their large stock of softscene pole work, SXS were able to drape out the entire of the hall in black wool serge. Of course a black blackout would not create the elegant look required. As such white trevera drapes were layered over the top of the black drapes to create a roused look.
Lighting
Lighting was simple and colour wash was in order. A cool blue projected from generic PAR cans was used against the roof, while the sashed drapes were uplift using a similar colour. The use of colours within the same area in the colour spectrum created a subtle and tasteful look in the room.
In addition to the colour floods, pinspots were focused on each table and breakup gobos projected.
To demonstrate the theme further, Futurelight moving heads were loaded with 007 an Casino Royale gobos that were to pan around the venue throughout the night.
