SXS does both conventional production work for awards shows, tours, festivals and conferences.  But we also get involved in some really fascinating and innovative projects.   Ever worked on a soviet aircraft?  How about in the depths of a Ukraine mine?    What about underwater?   Or back-to-back tour dates for international acts doing arena performances throughout Europe?   If you are keen on this SXS is the place!

In this role you would be working as a lighting technician and/or designer within our full-time team.    This includes:

 

  • Prep and maintenance of all types of rigging equipment including chain hoists, truss, hardware, marquees and staging
  • Pre-build of shows at SXS HQ (one of the UK's largest pre-build spaces)
  • Involvement in production meetings where ideas and concepts are shared
  • Setup and operation of equipment onsite
  • Working alongside our in-house team of set builders, lighting technicians, sound engineers and video technicians
  • Working in other departments including audio, video, set and staging in a junior capacity - this present an excellent learning opportunity which is crucial for everyone at SXS; even at the most senior levels.

Pre-Requisites:

A good head for heights, prudent mind-set and extensive experience of rigging in a commerical and industrial environment. NRC preferred.  A UK driver's license and your own car is essential.

The Kit:

Our main truss system is Litec and we have QX30, QD30SA, QD40SA and QX40s to suit specific applications. We use both Liftket and Verlinde Motors.   We also have an extensive range of outdoor structures, large quantities of staging as well as a good stock of clearspan marquees.

You will not need any equipment for the role and SXS provide an annual tool allowance and all PPE.

The Location:

SXS HQ, Bristol and site as required (central London focused)

Basis of the Role:

Full time.  Immediate start

Dependant on experience, qualifications, skills and background
